SAAS FOR PRIVATE SCHOOLS AND ACADEMIES

The school teaches, the owner runs the franchise.

TeduQ is the platform private schools, academies and training centres run all of their operations on, from curriculum and enrolment through scheduling, attendance, grading, contracts, certificates and invoicing. We built the platform for Profectus. What sets this system apart from other education software is franchising of the education programme. The owner licenses it to other schools, and sees in a single report what is happening across the whole network.

01THE NEED

Top down, from the franchise to the class hour.

Education franchises are large networks of organisations. Brainobrain, for one, is licensed out of a single head office in India to schools all over the world, and every change has to reach every school, while a report has to come back to the owner showing how the network runs and how much to invoice. Software that runs all of that did not exist.

TeduQ is built top down for that reason. A change to the franchise is published once and reaches every school holding it, from contracts and certificates through to programmes, class hours and levels. This is not a classic e-learning platform, though. Teaching is not delivered in it, it is run. Teachers create class hours, the school assembles programmes, and students and parents have their timetable, contracts and certificates in front of them.

From a diagram to a module.

Everything drawn before the first line of code was written, then one drawing up close, then that same drawing today.

A mosaic of every diagram in the system analysis, with the franchising diagram marked.
THE ANALYSIS Everything drawn Every part of the system went through a diagram first. The one marked is the one that draws franchising.
The franchising activity diagram, with lanes for owner, receiver and system, and a loop notifying on every change.
FRANCHISING One drawing, close up The owner offers the programme, the school accepts it, and on every change the system notifies the school. Drawn before the code.
The View or modify courses dialog in the application, with the courses shared with the franchise, and the table of franchised schools below it.
TODAY A live licence, not a copy What the drawing calls Share edu program: the courses a franchise holds, from the owner's side, shared and revoked at any moment. The school does not get a copy of the programme, it gets a live licence.

NEED

A school does not sell one course, it sells a programme. A course sits inside the programme, levels inside the course, subjects inside the level, and while that lives in a spreadsheet every school builds it differently and nobody knows what was actually bought.

SOLUTION

A course takes levels, a level takes subjects, a subject carries the certificates it issues, and the level carries the contracts a student signs to sit it. On the left the programme with its courses, on the right one level opened all the way down. Both screens are the empty template: the structure alone, before a single student, timetable or grade is in it.

BENEFIT

What gets licensed, graded and invoiced later is that same structure, so a certificate and a contract hang off a place in the programme rather than off a student somebody remembered.

NEED

A student who does not know where to be asks a teacher, a parent or the group chat, and nobody guarantees the answer. A timetable that lives in messages is not a timetable: it changes without a trace and everybody remembers it differently. And a slot in that timetable is not a lesson either: the teacher needs the subject and where it sits in the programme, the room and whether the group fits in it, and the hour.

SOLUTION

A student has their own account, and a week inside it that says which class, when and in which slot. The parent of a minor gets an account above the child's, opens it themselves and steps into it without a second login. Any one of those slots opens as three cards: the subject with the course, level and cycle above it, the room with its capacity and its address, and the hour from start to finish. None of it is retyped, because a session inherits its place in the programme from the cycle it was scheduled into.

BENEFIT

The slot the student sees is the one the school entered, so there is no message that went missing and no class hour nobody turned up to. And a class hour that knows its own level and cycle is one the report can count, so it lands in the right sheet of the right franchise without anybody sorting it afterwards.

NEED

A school that keeps attendance on paper knows who was there in the evening, once somebody copies the list into a notebook. Until then attendance is an estimate rather than a figure, and every slip in the notebook lands in the report that stands on it.

SOLUTION

A student carries a card with a QR code in their own account, the id printed under it. The teacher opens the camera inside the session, scans the code at the classroom door, and the roster fills itself. That is what a scanned student looks like: a green ring around the picture and a tick. Anyone the scanner missed stays red, with a button to confirm them by hand, and the tally beside the list holds the state: ten enrolled, seven in, three out.

BENEFIT

Attendance happens the moment a student walks into the room, not in the evening out of a notebook. That same figure is the column the whole network's report finally prints.

NEED

The master franchise owner does not teach, but answers for the programme. Without figures out of every school that job is phone calls and begging for a spreadsheet.

SOLUTION

The report is generated for one franchise or for several at once, over an optional date range, and comes out as an Excel workbook with a sheet per franchise and per level: a row per cycle, enrolments and how they ended, attendance, certificates issued and contracts signed, and the totals under them.

BENEFIT

One file instead of five emails. The whole network arrives in one format, and the row where contracts lag enrolments says so on the same line.

The screens come from a demonstration instance, and the report is a rendering of the file it returns. The structure runs on a language school network; the timetable, the class hour and the attendance are a course out of another programme in the same instance. The timetable and the attendance are assembled out of two applications, the student's and the teacher's, and the labels under the frames say which is which. Every screen is real; the figures are not the client network's.

03IN USE

Franchising is the tip, a whole school runs under it.

TeduQ has been live at teduq.com since June 2024. The master franchise for the Brainobrain programme in Bosnia and Herzegovina is held by the Institute for Youth Development KULT, which licenses it onward to centres city by city.1

How it stands in production.

It all lives on Azure, and test and production come up from the same Pulumi description, versioned alongside the application, so the difference between the two environments sits in one file. OpenTelemetry carries a trace of every request through the system, from the API call to the query on the database, so production is read the same way development is.

1 BRAINOBRAIN

“The owner of the master franchise of the Brainobrain programme for Bosnia and Herzegovina is the Institute for Youth Development KULT” is a sentence on the client's own site, at djeca.eu/dovedite-brainobrain-program-u-svoj-grad, translated from the Bosnian. The centres are listed city by city on the front page of the same site. As it stood in August 2026, and it is their account, not our measurement.
